Overview

The Sales Analyst for the Salon Division will work directly with the Sales, Marketing & Client Services teams and will be focused on sales analysis, data integrity and reporting.  The incumbent will report actual sales performance for the assigned channels and territories.  The individual will work cross functionally to understand budget variances, KPIs and sources of growth.

Responsibilities

  • Produce daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on sales metrics, including but not limited to sales effectiveness, competitive win/loss results, quota assignment analysis, and other key sales metrics. Report and analyze KPIs and make recommendations accordingly.  Maintain existing sales & channel reports through SAP/BI and other reporting modules (as applicable) and design new reports as needed.  Provide monthly distributor sales reports and inventory analysis. 
  • Analyze historical and future trends to develop sales forecast projections. Provide sales and financial insights and recommendations to support business decision making.  Develop effective business strategies with long-term intent to increase overall value.  Develop and analyze sales trends in the organization by distribution channel, customer, product or any other sales dimension that is needed.  Provide profitability analysis (channel, customer, promotional ROI, specific brands & sub-brands) 
  • Partner with cross functional teams such as Accounting for Sales, Marketing, Education program analysis. Liaise with Global office for reporting upgrades, sales tool management, pricing, deal codes, terms, etc.  Assist sales team through full sales cycles with activities including pricing, deal tracking, terms and revenue management.  Develop, support & consolidate budgets/quota.  
  • Drive standardization and automation of sales processes and procedures. Continual process improvement for sales forecasting and pipeline evaluation.  Determine gaps in current analysis and work closely with operations management to improve existing processes and reporting.  Manage Sales Management System (SMS) information and reporting to ensure accurate and timely reporting. 
  • Participate in other ad-hoc sales analysis projects as needed.  Particpate in global driven sales operations initiatives to ensure localized needs are met.    

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field
  • 4+ years of sales reporting/analysis in a Consumer or Retail environment, preferably with beauty industry experience.
  • Preferred Business Intelligence (SAP) experience
  • Advanced knowledge of databases and MS Office software with the ability to create and properly format documents, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, presentations and generate reports.
  • Strong technical ability to automate reports (Pivot, V-Lookups, macros)
  • Strong experience with sales analysis management and experience managing a sales process
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated individual that is able to work independently, as well as participate on team projects
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete assignments given aggressive time constraints with high-quality
  • Ability to create executive presentations and deliver technical information in a simple and easily understood way
  • Ability to work with cross functional team members at different levels of the organization
  • Position may require travel within and outside of Canada.  The required travel for this position ranges from 5% to 10%
