    The facility is located in High Point, NC on approximately 60 acres.     KSA is currently recruiting for a Switcher/Yard Driver at our facility. This position works on a 2 week, 10 hour shift (7am-5pm) schedule with alternating weekend work. Daily duties of this position include:

    • Daily movement of truck trailers within the facility, including loading and unloading trucks and railcars
    • Daily Fork lift operations, receiving, and dispatching freight
    • Follow KSA Inventory management system
    • Safely follow all chemical handling procedures
    • Daily assignments as directed by the Warehouse Manager
    • Receiving instructions via radio and performing trailer shuttling to accommodate logistical needs                
    • Responsible for performing daily maintenance checks of trucks, refueling trucks and report any malfunctions
    • Responsible for documenting all trailer moves and submitting the daily move sheet to management upon the completion of the shift
    • Perform the duties of this role in ALL weather conditions
    • Couple and uncouple tractor-trailer units, connect and disconnect brake lines as needed
    • Know and comply with all Department of Transportation regulations per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations handbook
    • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area
    • Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.


    Candidates for this position must have:

    • High School diploma or GED
    • 3+ years of industrial shipping and receiving experience
    • 3+ years of inventory management system
    • 3+ years of handling hazardous chemicals including tanker trucks and railcars
    • A minimum of one (1) year of driving experience in Tractor-Trailer Truck or Bobtail
    • Must be able to stand, walk, and climbing into and out of tractor trailers virtually the entire shift
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and work in outdoor conditions (year round) with moderate noise, both indoors and outdoors
    • Overtime and working on holidays is often required
    • Effectively work in a fast-paced, team environment and display effective verbal and written communication
    • Pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks)
    • A clean driving record to be DOT certified to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) “A or B” and air brake endorsement within 6 months of hire
